1. How We Use AI
SEO Research and Strategic Analysis
We use AI to support research and analyse complex information, including:
- Search intent, customer journeys and query variations
- Keyword relationships, semantic topics and entity analysis
- Competitor content and website structure comparisons
- Content gaps and topical coverage opportunities
- Search trends and emerging AI search behaviours
AI helps us process and explore information more efficiently. Our SEO specialists interpret the findings, validate the evidence and determine the appropriate strategy.
Technical SEO and Website Audits
We use AI-assisted workflows to investigate technical SEO issues, interpret crawl data and support website analysis.
This can include:
- Analysing website crawl exports and technical SEO reports
- Identifying potential indexing, canonicalisation and internal linking issues
- Reviewing website architecture and URL structures
- Supporting structured data analysis and validation
- Identifying patterns across large website datasets
- Assisting with SEO migration planning and quality assurance
AI-generated findings are treated as potential observations, not automatically confirmed technical issues.
Recommendations are assessed against actual website data, search engine documentation and our professional experience.
Content Research, Writing and Optimisation
We use generative AI to assist with selected stages of content production.
This may include:
- Researching topics and identifying relevant questions
- Developing content briefs and article outlines
- Identifying semantic relationships and missing information
- Drafting or refining selected content
- Improving readability, clarity and structure
- Supporting metadata, image alt text and structured data development
AI-generated content is not automatically considered accurate, original or ready for publication.
Our editorial approach requires human review of factual accuracy, relevance, search intent, brand positioning and content quality.
We aim to create content that provides genuine value, rather than publishing large volumes of generic or repetitive AI-generated material.
AI Search Visibility and Brand Analysis
As an SEO agency specialising in both traditional and AI-powered search, we also use AI systems to understand how brands may be represented across search experiences.
Our work includes:
- Analysing brand positioning and representation in AI-generated answers
- Identifying entity relationships and brand associations
- Investigating how AI systems retrieve and reference information
- Evaluating brand mentions, citations and competitive visibility
- Identifying opportunities to improve website clarity and third-party corroboration
We also develop proprietary technology, including Brandonomy.ai, to support AI visibility analysis and monitoring.
AI-generated answers can vary by prompt, model, location and time. We therefore treat visibility observations as evidence from specific tests, rather than guarantees of how every user will see a brand.
Automation and Internal Tools
We use AI and automation to improve repetitive or data-intensive processes, including reporting support, data classification, information extraction and workflow development.
We may also build custom tools and AI-assisted systems for SEO research, website analysis and operational efficiency.
Automation helps reduce manual effort. It does not eliminate the need for validation, quality control or professional oversight.
2. Our Human-First Approach
AI is an assistant in our workflow, not the final decision-maker.
Our approach follows five principles:
1. Human-led strategy
SEO strategies, priorities and recommendations are determined by experienced professionals, taking into account business objectives, website conditions, competition and available evidence.
2. Verification before publication
AI-assisted outputs are reviewed for factual accuracy, relevance and consistency. Where appropriate, claims are checked against primary sources, client information, official documentation or reliable supporting evidence.
3. Quality over content volume
We do not consider publishing more content to be a strategy in itself. We prioritise useful, accurate, differentiated content that addresses genuine user needs.
4. Transparency and accountability
We are open about using AI in our processes. SearchMinistry remains accountable for the recommendations and deliverables we provide.
5. Responsible handling of information
We aim to minimise unnecessary disclosure of sensitive client information when using third-party AI systems and apply appropriate safeguards based on the information and tools involved.
3. How We Review AI-Assisted Content
Before AI-assisted content is approved for publication, our review process considers:
| Review area | What we check |
|---|---|
| Factual accuracy | Claims, statistics, names, dates and supporting sources |
| Search intent | Whether the content genuinely answers the user's needs |
| Originality and value | Whether the content adds useful insight rather than simply repeating existing information |
| Brand accuracy | Whether services, capabilities, positioning and claims are represented correctly |
| SEO elements | Page titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links and image alt text |
| Structured data | Whether markup accurately reflects the visible content and supported facts |
| Editorial quality | Readability, consistency, clarity and usefulness |
The extent of review depends on the nature, complexity and risk of the content.
4. What We Don't Use AI For
We do not support:
- Publishing unreviewed AI-generated content at scale simply to target search rankings
- Inventing client results, testimonials, credentials, research findings or statistics
- Presenting AI-generated assumptions as verified facts
- Fabricating sources, citations or third-party endorsements
- Making important client strategy decisions solely on AI recommendations
- Guaranteeing Google rankings or AI search citations based on AI-generated predictions
AI can produce plausible but inaccurate information. We recognise this limitation and design our workflows accordingly.
5. Who Is Responsible for Our Work?
SearchMinistry Media is founded and led by Tharindu Gunawardana, an SEO specialist with over 17 years of experience across technical SEO, e-commerce SEO, website migrations, content strategy and search optimisation.
His experience spans more than 500 projects and includes agency leadership, enterprise and e-commerce SEO, and the adoption of AI-assisted search technologies.
Our use of AI builds on this professional experience. It does not substitute for it.
Strategic recommendations, client deliverables and published information remain the responsibility of SearchMinistry and the people involved in their review and approval.
6. Our Commitment to Responsible AI Use
AI technologies, search engines and best practices continue to evolve.
We regularly evaluate emerging tools, research and methodologies to understand where AI can improve our work and where its limitations require additional scrutiny.
We believe the future of SEO combines human expertise, reliable data, technical capability and responsible AI adoption.
Our commitment is straightforward:
Use AI where it adds value. Verify its outputs. Keep humans accountable.
